Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation
The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation took place in Beijing on May 14-15, 2017. It was the highest profile international event yet organized under the framework of the Belt and Road. It was also the highest-level and largest-scale multilateral diplomatic gathering initiated and organized by China. Its objective was to build consensus, better align development strategies, and strengthen partnerships and international cooperation in search of win-win results.
Under the theme of “international cooperation in building the Belt and Road for win-win development”, the forum drew 29 foreign heads of state or government, as well as more than 1,500 representatives from over 130 countries and more than 70 international organizations spanning all major regions of the world. The discussions at the forum focused on infrastructure connectivity, economic and trade cooperation, industrial investment, energy resources, financing needs, people-to-people exchanges, environmental protection and conservation, and marine cooperation.
Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of a concerted effort to build the Belt and Road in the “Silk Road spirit” that promotes peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, and the pursuit of win-win solutions. He envisioned a new Silk Road of peace, prosperity and progress, one that embraces openness and innovation.
Prior to and during the forum, national governments, local authorities and enterprises reached 76 agreements detailing more than 270 deliverables. The second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is scheduled to be held in 2019.
“一帶一路”國際合作高峰論壇
在中國政府的提議和組織下，“一帶一路”國際合作高峰論壇于2017年5月14日至15日在北京舉辦。這次論壇是“一帶一路”框架下最高規(guī)格的國際活動，也是由中國首倡、中國主辦的層級最高、規(guī)模最大的多邊外交活動。中方主辦高峰論壇，目的就是要進一步凝聚共識，加強發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略對接，深化伙伴關(guān)系，推動國際合作，實現(xiàn)互利共贏。本次高峰論壇主題為“加強國際合作，共建‘一帶一路’，實現(xiàn)共贏發(fā)展”，共有來自29個國家的國家元首、政府首腦與會，來自130多個國家和70多個國際組織的1500多名代表參會，覆蓋了五大洲各大區(qū)域。與會代表圍繞基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施互聯(lián)互通、經(jīng)貿(mào)合作、產(chǎn)業(yè)投資、能源資源、金融支撐、人文交流、生態(tài)環(huán)保和海洋合作等重要領(lǐng)域進行了討論。習(xí)近平在開幕式上發(fā)表了題為《攜手推進“一帶一路”建設(shè)》的主旨演講，強調(diào)堅持以和平合作、開放包容、互學(xué)互鑒、互利共贏為核心的絲路精神，將“一帶一路”建成和平、繁榮、開放、創(chuàng)新、文明之路。高峰論壇期間及前夕，各國政府、地方、企業(yè)等達成76大項、270多項務(wù)實成果。第二屆“一帶一路”國際合作高峰論壇將于2019年舉辦。
