Regulations on Religious Affairs
Formulated in conformity with the Constitution and relevant laws, the Regulations on Religious Affairs was promulgated by the State Council in 2004, and came into force on March 1, 2005. It aims to protect citizens’ freedom of religion or belief, safeguard religious and social harmony, and ensure proper regulation of religious affairs, or in other words to protect lawful activities and punish illegal or criminal acts. It contains seven sections: General Rules, Religious Groups, Religious Sites, Religious Workers, Religious Property, Legal Responsibilities, and Supplementary Rules. The promulgation and implementation of this document as China’s first comprehensive administrative statute on religion represent an important step forward in its effort to promote rule of law in religious affairs.
《宗教事務(wù)條例》
《宗教事務(wù)條例》2004年由國(guó)務(wù)院通過并頒布，自2005年3月1日起施行，目的是保障公民宗教信仰自由，維護(hù)宗教和睦與社會(huì)和諧，規(guī)范宗教事務(wù)管理，根據(jù)憲法和有關(guān)法律而制定?！稐l例》堅(jiān)持保護(hù)合法、制止非法和打擊違法犯罪的原則，包括總則，宗教團(tuán)體，宗教活動(dòng)場(chǎng)所，宗教教職人員，宗教財(cái)產(chǎn)，法律責(zé)任，附則七個(gè)方面的內(nèi)容?！稐l例》是我國(guó)第一部宗教方面的綜合性行政法規(guī)，它的頒布和實(shí)施，標(biāo)志著我國(guó)宗教事務(wù)管理方面的法制建設(shè)取得了重要進(jìn)展。
