Dell Loses Co-president of Dell China
Adjust font size:

Liu Junling, co-president of Dell China, has chosen to leave the company at the end of its third fiscal quarter which ends on October 31, the company said yesterday.

Liu will, however, stay on with Dell China till November and will continue to contribute and support the company as it drives towards its ambitious targets in China , according to a statement from Dell China.

Amit Midha will be in charge of Dell China's business after Liu's departure.

"Liu has helped accelerate the company's outreach efforts to government, customers and media and further improved Dell's reputation in China," said Sharon Zhang, Dell China's spokesperson. "He led the team successfully in driving the enterprise business, including server, storage and solution services."

During Liu's tenure, Dell, the world's No. 2 personal computer maker, launched several products aimed at consumers to compete with rivals like HP and Lenovo. Its consumer-related business jumped 3.5 times in the past three years.

Liu, who joined Dell in April 2006, is leaving the firm to purse his entrepreneurship spirit and develop his own business. But Dell declined to reveal more details.

Liu didn't answer his mobile phone yesterday despite repeated attempts to reach him.
