While King Gesar was away from the Ling Kingdom, the White Curtai n King of Hortried to attack Ling Kingdom in collusion with the Goat Dzong of Hortsipa, but was defeated by Gesar. Drakpa is the only entertainer who has told this story, which is not to be found in either handwritten or block-printed vers ions.

According to the Chinese-language History of the Song Dynasty, V olume of Tubo, Long Sequel to Comprehensive Mirror for Aid in Government, and Qingtang Records by Li Yuan , Rgyal-sras (997-1065) was a descendant of a Tubo king (Tsanpo). He was a devoted believer and disseminator of Buddhism and a secular Bodhisattva. Rgyal-sras is also the name of the kingdom which he established and which lasted for over a hundred years. The novel is based on historical facts.
