A single-storey pavilion-style structure, the pagoda has a square base and doors on all four sides. Its three-level Sumeru pedestal is huge, and the carvings on it--images of the Buddha, bodhisattvas, celestial guards and flying apsarases as well as dragons and tigers in high relief--are gorgeous and vivid. On each side of the square central pillar inside the pagoda are carved images of Buddha in the style of the Tang Dynasty.

The pagoda is 10.8 meters high. Its main body, four meters wide and four meters high, is sculptured out of stone, but its roof is constructed of brick. From its architectural style and carving technique, the roof was probably rebuilt in the Song Dynasty.
