Traditional Mongolian wedding ceremonies have become trendy again among young people in big cities of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said sources with local wedding ceremony agencies.

More and more local young couples are enjoying a traditional Mongolian wedding that features whole-roasted sheep, milk-wine and horse-head fiddle performances in the Mongolian-style restaurants and banquet halls in Hohhot, capital of the region.

Bater, a civil servant, is one example of those going back to the past to honor their nuptials. He told Xinhua that he wants to add a traditional feeling to his wedding.

This will include a hearty meal that centers on an entire, head-to-tail roast sheep, a variety of unique tasting dairy drinks along with enthusiastic singing and dancing.

The parents and grandparents of the newlyweds will greet the couple in traditional style, but Bater's new wife will not be wearing a long, white gown.

Both the bride and groom will be dressed in brilliant Mongolian costumes. Bater will also wear a dagger in his waist belt. He'll toast his guests and offer silk ribbons along with a wish of good luck.
