In the morning on July 17th, a route 320 bus, festooned with red balloons and multi-color banners, carried a pair of newlyweds on a special marital journey. The newlyweds, Sun Ranran and Chen Hang, first met on this route 320 bus.
Around 9 a.m. on Sunday morning, the groom, Chen Hang, dressed in black tuxedo, carried the bride Sun Ranran to climb the steps of route 320 bus. "Near the end of March 2003, we met each other on route 320 bus." Dressed in white bridal gown, Sun Ranran reminisced that because she and Chen waited for their 320 bus every day after work at the depot of the West Railway Station, they often ended up on the same 320 bus on their way home.
"At the beginning we met by accident, but after running into each other more than ten times, it became a conscious decision to wait for the other before boarding the bus." Sun and Chen "accidentally" ran into each other almost every day aboard the 320 bus. "But we never spoke to each other during that period of time, and we kept our distance from each other inside the bus." Two months later, Sun was prepared to change her job and she worried she might not run into Chen. So she asked the newspaper woman to hand Chen a letter written by her. The next day, Chen dialed the phone number in the letter to reach Sun and thereafter they fell in love.
"After 2003 we began to discuss that we would let the 320 bus be our witness when we marry." Yesterday morning, Sun in bridal gown and Chen in tuxedo once again climbed on board the 320 bus. The 320 bus that "introduced" them to each other became their "bridal" car.
To give this pair of newlyweds a satisfactory service, the 320 bus line specially assigned a brand new 320 air conditioned bus to ferry them. In addition, a manager from the bus line personally sat behind the wheel to drive the bus.
