Nine young Chinese doctors will go to work abroad in September, enjoying 13,000 yuan (US$1,600) of monthly payment plus approximate 3,300 yuan (US$412.5) in housing subsidies after six months, the Beijing Morning Post reported yesterday.
The nine doctors, six from Shanghai and the other three from Beijing, Shenyang and Wuhan, signed contracts with foreign employers in Shanghai two days ago.
A growing number of senior employees will be sent aboard from this year, said Jin Xingrong, general manager with Shanghai SFECO International Personal Service Company.
The company posted an ad recruiting domestic doctors to work aboard this spring and more than 60doctors applied for the job with more than half Shanghaiers. Most applicants are said to have substantial clinical experience and a high level of oral and written English.
The nine hold practicing doctor certificates of the People's Republic of China, specializing in internal medicine, pediatrics and urological departments.
The doctors will get a much higher payment than nurses overseas. The nine doctors have signed two years of contract, with annual leave of 24 days.
