A special collegiate bench dealing with foreign cases, the first of its kind in the local court system, has been established in Beijing, to handle judicial changes resulting from China's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Li Ke, president of Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People's Court, said Sunday that the newly established bench will handle cases connected with foreign interests in loan contracts, international transport contracts, disputes relating to letters of credit and international cooperation, international goods trading, etc.
According to Li, the bench is now preparing for an upsurge in the number of foreign business and civil cases by familiarizing its members with relevant laws and regulations.
