Nagarjuna, Detailed Annotations on Madhyamaka-karika, Sichuan Ethnic Publishing House, Chengdu, February 1998. 417 pp. 20 c m. ISBN 7-5409-1447-5. Annotations by Gos Rampa. Nagarjuna's Madhyamaka-karika is the most im portant classic of the Madhyamika School. It contains the essentials of Nagarjun as thought in 27 short chapters. It has many annotated editions in the Hindu, Chinese and Tibetan languages. In the present edition, the annotations of the first 23 chapters were made by Gos Rampa Sonam Sengge (1429-1469), a Buddhist scholar of Tibetan Buddhist Sakya Sect. The annotations to the rest 4 chapters were made by Shakya Lodro. Appended with an article, entitled "A Brief Biography of Master Nagarjuna" by sutra teacher Yeshe Gyeltsen.

Annotations by Rendawa Shonnu Lodro. The Four Hundred Verses on Madhyamika in 16 c hapters was written by Aryadeva (Tib. Phagpa La), chief disciple of Nagarjuna, the founder of Madhyamika philosophical school of Buddhism. This sutra was translated wholly into Tibetan and partly (the last 8 chapters) into Chinese. The Annotations to "The Four Hundred Verses" was made by Rendawa Shonnu Lodro (1349-1412), Tsongkhapa's teacher.

Ratnagotra-vibhaga-mahayanotta-ratanra-shastra , one of the "Five Works of Maitreya," is a work representative of the Tatha gatagarbha school of thought in Mahayana Buddhism. Annotations by Rongton Sheja Kunsig (1367-1449), a well-known Tibetan Buddhist scholar, showing his distinctive points of view in the annotations.

Abhidharmakosha, a representative work of Vas ubandhu, an Indian Buddhist scholar in the 5th century. This is a classical work required to study by all Tibetan Buddhist sects in learning doctrines of Hinaya na Buddhism. There are many annotated versions on the work, one of which was listed in Catalogue of Chinese Publications in Tibetan Studies (1949-1991) published by the Foreign Languages Press. This version of Commentaries was made by Lode Wangpo, a scholar of the Nyingma sect in the 19th century. With a part of the text of Abhidharmakosha and a brief biography of its author, Vasubandhu.

A Tibetan translation of Avadana-shataka, wit h commentaries made by Tibetan scholars. The Sanskrit word Avadana means "analogy or metaphor." It is commonly used in Buddhist sutras t o illustrate doctrinal points. Avadana-shataka was written by Susambhava, an Indian king in the 11th century. It consists of 108 legends o f the deeds of the Buddha to demonstrate Mahayana doctrine s, and it was included in the Tengyur. With a preface by t he 5th Reting Hutuktu (1910-1947).

The Gelug Sect founded by Tsongkhapa came later than other sects. T songkhapa not only enforced monastic disciplines, but also put forward many new viewpoints.
