"I missed Michael's last call to me. I returned his call as soon as my assistant told me about it, but he did not answer. It makes me feel very sad," Jackie Chan told Sina.com with more than a hint of grief in his voice, "As a good friend of Michael, I think that death represents a kind of escape for him."

Taiwan music band Soda Green told Sina.com that they too were very sorry to hear of Michael's sudden death. "Michael Jackson had a huge influence on our band," they said. "No one could match Michael's music and dancing. He was a huge figure in the music business. We were all great fans of his and feel very sad about his death."

"I feel a great sense of loss. We always tend to love those whom we lose - people are often like that. I have been especially moved by his loyal fans. Michael is a true Legend," said Sammi Cheng, a Hong Kong singer and actress.

"Michael Jackson will always be a giant in my musical world, always!" said JJ Lin. The Singaporean-Chinese Pop Singer was too shocked to accept Michael's sudden death. JJ performed and danced to a cover version of Michael's "Beat it" during his Beijing concert in June. He has always looked upon Michael as an idol.

"I am staggered - I thought that his ill-health was under control. I could never have imagined that he might pass away so suddenly," said JJ. "Michael is and will remain a giant in my musical world! His fire lives on in my heart!”
