| At the end of 2006, the deposit balance denominated in both local and foreign currencies in all financial institutes in Tibet reached 54.574 billion Yuan, up 19.5 percent over the end of 2005. This included 14.057 billion Yuan worth of saving deposits of urban and rural residents, up 13.5 percent. The loan balance denominated in both Chinese and foreign currencies in all financial institutions amounted to 20.414 billion Yuan, up 13.8 percent. The accumulated cash income of the financial institutions added up to 64.350 billion Yuan, up 23.5 percent; the accumulated cash expenditure reached 67.095 billion Yuan, an increase of 20.1 percent; and the amount of the cash withdrawn reached 2.745 billion Yuan, down 1.006 billion Yuan.
In 2006, the premiums received by insurance companies added up to 195 million Yuan, an increase of 23.9 percent. This included 24 million Yuan for property insurance, up 14.9 percent; 9.39 million Yuan for accident injury insurance, an increase of 3.4 percent; and 159 million Yuan for motor vehicle insurance, up 26.3 percent. In 2006, the insurance companies paid out 65.68 million Yuan.
