Monks walk by the building of Lhakang Temple, 110 kilometers to Kangding City in southwest China's Sichuan Province, March 4, 2009. As one of the temples in Sakya Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, the Lhakang Temple has spanned over 1,000 years, with a construction style of Tibetan and Han ethnic groups. The temple worships a statue of Princess Wen Cheng, which is considered as a commemoration for the exchange between Tibetan and Han ethnic groups. Princess Wen Cheng, daughter of Emperor Li Shimin of the prosperous Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.), was married to Tibetan King Songtsan Gambo in 641. [Xinhua Photo]
