Several industrial clusters of large-scale marine organism companies are planned for Huangdao District in Qingdao.

The clusters, which were first announced on Dec. 8, will focus on intensive processing of marine organisms, including seaweed, marine foods, new materials, medicine and cosmetics. Authorities hope they will have a gross output of 40 billion yuan by 2015 and 70 billion yuan by 2020.
