The Chinese rendition of "Cats" came on at the Shandong Grand Theatres on Nov. 1, and also opened its New Year show season in Jinan, capital of Shandong Province. The theatre will present about 60 performances during the period, starting from Nov. 1, 2013, to Jan. 31, 2014.

The theatre, with a total constructed floor area of 136,000 square meters and involving a total investment of 2.475 billion yuan (US$406.15 million), is the best place for performance in the province.

Through competitive bidding, the China Arts and Entertainment Group was granted the eight-year-long management and operation rights of the theatre.
