A top local work safety official in eastern Zhejiang Province was confirmed dead after falling from his home early Friday morning, according to the local government.

Bao Zhen, head of the work safety administration of Jiaxing city, fell from his home on the 17th floor of an apartment building at Nanhu district in the city and was found and reported to police at around 0:25 a.m. Friday, and died later in hospital, the municipal publicity department said.

Police said blood test showed that Bao was drunken when falling from his home. Vomits, which were found in his room, toilet and on the windows and windowsills of his room, were tested as belong to him.
