HONG KONG, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force on Friday announced the issuance of a wanted list, approved by the court, for 19 individuals suspected of violating the national security law in Hong Kong.
The list includes Yuan Gong-yi, Ho Leung-mau Victor, Keung Ka-wai and others. The 19 persons are accused of organizing, establishing, or participating in a subversive organization called the "Hong Kong Parliament" outside of Hong Kong.
According to the Hong Kong Police Force, the "Hong Kong Parliament" aims to subvert state power; its objectives include promoting "self-determination," promulgating the so-called "Hong Kong Constitution," and overthrowing or undermining the basic system of the People's Republic of China (PRC) established by the Constitution of the PRC or overthrowing the body of the central power of PRC or the body of power of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) with unlawful means.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR expressed strong support for the Hong Kong Police Force in their lawful pursuit of the 19 fugitive separatists.
The office emphasized that the recent actions related to the so-called "Hong Kong Parliament" elections constitute serious violations of the national security law in Hong Kong, posing significant threats to the country's sovereignty, security, and developmental interests.
The office reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the HKSAR in effectively implementing the national security law in Hong Kong, the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance and other relevant laws safeguarding national security.
It also pledged to cooperate with the Hong Kong Police Force in their determined efforts to crack down on fugitive anti-China separatists, ensuring the stability and longevity of the practice of the "one country, two systems" principle. Enditem
