ZHENGZHOU, July 25 (Xinhua) -- China is playing an increasingly proactive role in the global protection of cultural heritage, fostering cooperation across civilizations, according to a report released on Friday by Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency.
The report, titled "In Joint Stewardship of the Treasures of Human Civilization: China's Philosophy and Practice of Cultural Heritage Protection in the New Era," reviews China's practices in cultural heritage protection and inheritance.
As one of its key focuses, the report showcases China's efforts in building cross-border partnerships and contributing to global preservation efforts, including assistance projects for the Belt and Road countries such as Cambodia, Nepal, Myanmar, and Uzbekistan.
China has also launched regional cooperation initiatives, such as the Initiative for the Preservation of Asian Cultural Heritage and the founding of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia, which have attracted positive responses and joint efforts from all parties in Asia, according to the report.
Furthermore, the report notes that China has established a global cultural heritage community through collaboration in convention implementation, technology sharing, talent education, challenge response, and win-win development. Enditem
