BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks defeated Shanxi Loongs 121-103 on Friday, wrapping up the best-of-five series 3-0 to reach the 2024-25 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Finals.
Going into the game with a 2-0 overall lead, Beijing's players were confident enough to seal the semifinal victory on home court. The two sides staged a tough first half, where Beijing edged its opponent by one point.
Beijing started to take control of the game in the second half, winning the third quarter 40-18 to establish a 23-point advantage. Shanxi tried hard to get back into contention in the final quarter, but Beijing's shooters performed well enough to seal the victory.
Beijing guard Eugene German scored a game-high 43 points, while Anunwa Omot added 27. Star center Zhou Qi had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Goodwin had 32 points for Shanxi, and Zhang Ning added 22.
The Beijing Ducks have won three CBA titles in the team's history, with the most recent coming in the 2014-15 season. They will now face off against the Zhejiang Lions in the CBA Finals, which start next Wednesday. Enditem
