Police have launched an investigation to find the mobsters who participated in the riot in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province. Nine more rioters have been arrested, and guns and ammunition have been found.

Nine rioters involved in the violence were arrested on Saturday morning.

Police found a semi-automatic rifle and ammunition, including 53 rifle bullets, two pistol bullets and 129 shotgun bullets in 10 boxes.

Police also seized 400 meters of fuses in the hideout.

A total of 167 people who were involved in the riot had surrendered to police in Gannan by Sunday.

Since March 15, beating, smashing, looting and arson have occurred in several counties in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

Police have stepped up investigations. Evidence shows the spate of violent activities was not coincidental. These acts of sabotage were well-planned.

Zhong Jianlong, police officer of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, said, "I think those violence is well-planned and organized. For instance, during the rampage in Xiahe County on 15th this month, many of the rioters had obvious marks on their shoulders and arms. They also used black cloth on heads. I think these are not coincidence."

A total of 94 people have been injured in Gannan. The economic loss stands at 230 million yuan or 32.6 million U.S. dollars.
