A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said on Monday that the CPC hopes to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) to promote bilateral ties.

"This year marks the 90th founding anniversary of both parties, as well as the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries. We hope to take this opportunity to further enhance the two parties' exchanges and cooperation to promote the sound development of the bilateral partnership," said Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Li made the remarks while addressing a seminar in Hohhot of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. During this seminar senior officials from the CPC and MPP exchanged views and experiences on party-building and national construction.

Visiting MPP Secretary General Khurelsukh Ukhnaa also attended the seminar.

"The practice of our party-building in more than 30 years since the reform and opening up told us that we should always abide by scientific guidelines, summarize experience from practice, improve the party's leadership, serve the people wholeheartedly, and firmly punish corruption," Li said.

He told the guests that the CPC will further enhance training for officials, promote theory and system innovation, improve cadres' work style, strengthen corruption-fighting efforts, and build a clean government.

Khurelsukh also reviewed the experiences of the MPP's establishment and construction. He said, during the MPP's party-building and national construction process, it will strengthen mutual trust and cooperation with the CPC in order to play an important role in deepening the Mongolia-China strategic partnership.

The seminar was held by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and attracted nearly 200 party officials and scholars. After it concluded, Li and Khurelsukh also held a meeting on Monday afternoon.

In the meeting, Li highlighted the establishment of the China-Mongolia strategic partnership in June, saying it brought bilateral ties to a new development stage. Reciprocal cooperation in all areas will face broader prospects.

"The CPC will work with the MPP to grasp the opportunity to deepen our friendly relations, so as to consolidate the political foundation of a sound and stable development for the strategic partnership," Li said.

Khurelsukh said the success of the seminar injected new vitality into Mongolia-China relations. He hoped the MPP and CPC would further strengthen exchanges and expand their cooperation.

Officials and representatives from the two countries will also visit the city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia.
