China's stocks rose for the third trading day in a row Monday after the country's manufacturing sector continued to expand, suggesting that China's economy improve as a result of the massive stimulus packages.

The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) of China's manufacturing sector climbed to 53.3 percent in July, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing said Saturday. The June figure was 53.2 percent.

A reading of above 50 suggests expansion, while one below 50 indicates contraction. It is the fifth consecutive month that China's PMI rose above 50 after the government unveiled a four-trillion-yuan stimulus package to sustain the growth of the third largest economy.
