Most of Chinese people believed the fundamental factors of the Chinese economy remained good, according to a survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The survey found 80.9 percent of the respondents considered that despite the impact from the international financial crisis, China would realize a healthy and relatively fast economic growth in the coming couple of years.
NBS said earlier this month Chinese economy grew 9 percent in 2008, and the rate was relatively high in comparison with other economies under the financial woes. Ma Jiantang, head of the bureau, said China contributed more than 20 percent to the world economic growth last year.
The survey findings also showed that most of the people surveyed took a "quite rational attitude" toward the ongoing financial crisis, though many said they were "a bit worried".
The questionnaire-based survey was conducted in November 2008 in 18 cities and 20 counties nationwide, with 7,000 samples selected in urban areas and 3,000 ones in rural areas.
