The event drew industry leaders from Fortune 500 companies in advanced manufacturing, health care and agriculture to address global supply chain challenges and mark the Navigator Program's debut.

In their opening remarks, Michael Hart, president of AmCham China, and Sun Xiao, secretary-general of the China Chamber of International Commerce, emphasized how global supply chains drive economic growth and foster cross-industry collaboration.

During the expo, Hart noted the Chinese government's engagement with foreign companies and expressed optimism about market growth prospects. He highlighted China's importance to American businesses' supply chain and manufacturing operations, with both nations maintaining strong partnerships in these sectors.

A panel discussion followed featuring insights from three industry experts: Lawrence Lou, supply chain project director at Cummins China; Tony Zeng, chief revenue officer for SAP Greater China's Digital Supply Chain; and Steven Lin, senior manager of global field operations for China, Southeast Asia and Oceania at Boeing. The discussion explored key trends, including resilience-building strategies, local operational successes and talent development practices.

The event concluded with AmCham China President Hart and Vice President Claire Ma launching the 2025 Manufacturing & Supply Chain Navigator Program. The initiative aims to cultivate young leaders in the U.S.-China business community, particularly those focused on manufacturing and supply chain operations, through engagement with industry leaders.

Chuck Brown, a senior supply chain consultant and a 2024 Navigator Program graduate, joined Nokia's Head of Private Wireless Bai Rui to discuss the program's impact. They emphasized strategies for matching professional development with emerging supply chain industry needs.

The six-month Navigator Program will select qualified applicants from various industries and companies across China, regardless of nationality. It equips professionals with strategic insights into manufacturing and supply chain operations, preparing them for success in the global business environment.
