# Free trade zones (FTZs) and ports promoting higher-level opening-up
China has been working to bring its FTZs construction in line with international high-level economic and trade norms, expand market access and facilitate investment and trade, EY observed. In addition, similar policy measures and financial support have brought more opportunities for developing the Hainan Free Trade Port. These have paved the way for China to expand higher-level opening-up in 2022.
