Still worrying about what to eat on the train?

The high-speed railway in China will now offer multiple food supplies from chain restaurants, such as, Dicos, Xiaoji Noodles, and Ledao Hong Kong Teahouse, from July 17, 2017.

The service will allow passengers to eat food on the train at the touch of their fingertips.

The online booking service with its increased variety will add to the previously monopolized meal packages already available and is expected to be available through Apps such as WeChat, and the railway's official website (12306.cn).

Passengers who have booked their tickets on the website will be informed that if they want to book a meal on the train, they should send their orders no less than two hours in advance.

The order will be confirmed or rejected by the suppliers in 10 minutes and it is up to the restaurants to decide the relative deadlines for passengers to book or cancel their orders. The delivery must be given at least 30 minutes to reach the train.

If passengers need to rebook or cancel their trips, the website will notify them to cancel their booked meals.

Passengers who fail to secure a seat on the train can also receive the service by stating the number of the train and compartment that they are going to stand in.

About 27 high-speed-railway stations, including, Changchun, Xi'an and Hangzhou East, are scheduled to launch the service.
