BAHEAL Pharmaceutical Group (Baheal) reached a strategic cooperation agreement with IBM Watson Health in Beijing on March 28, 2017. According to the agreement, Qingdao BAHEAL Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. (Baheal Intelligence) under the Baheal Group will become IBM’s general agency in China with access to a three-year exclusive distributorship for Watson for Oncology in Chinese market. Meanwhile, Baheal Intelligence will be given priority over its future products in Chinese market and over cooperation on research and development of new products.

Through the cooperation, medical institutions in China can get access to a variety of cognitive intelligence technologies and solutions from Watson Health, the most fully-fledged worldwide, enabling a significant improvement in the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment based on big data.

Health ecosphere of cognitive intelligence is emerging

Under the agreement, Baheal Intelligence will promote all products of Watson Health in Chinese market with focus on the cancer treatment programs, while these products will be customized in line with Chinese characteristics to meet the needs of Chinese people.

In the already established Watson Health product line, Watson for Oncology has now stored massive cancer cases and clinical treatment experience from MSKCC and dozens of medical institutions in America, as well as numerous medical journals, monographs and research data, gradually becoming an important aid for experts.

Since Watson for Oncology has been commercially available in July, 2015, it has so far covered treatment against cancersof lung, breast, colon, stomach and cervix.

Ally is forged under consensus on cognitive business

Baheal, which has long been dedicated to healthcare, is a leading brand marketing enterprise in the industry, making itself the best option for IBM if it wants to bring health products to China.

Baheal is able to boost Watson in Chinese market with an experienced IT team operating over the Easy Return Visit, an after-diagnosis management tool and the Handheld Medical Consultation, an APP used most frequently by Chinese doctors.

Baheal has set up the Bodhi Healthcare Group Limited (a medical cloud platform) and a big data center. It also maintains nearly 10,000 pharmacy partners in the retail sector.
