Abstract

As the core of the Silk Road, Xinjiang enjoys a great wealth of cultural resources: The long history leaves it with rich cultural legacies; the inclusive and diverse culture provides rich cultural material; the unique ethnic characteristics imbue the cultural products with charm; and the spectacular performance of the traditional culture offers more

access to the market. The exploitation of the value and potential of its cultural industry will definitely make Xinjiang the vanguard of the Silk Road cultural industry belt. This paper

argues that the current task ought to be making full use of the geographical advantages and historic opportunities, studying and building a modern Xinjiang cultural industry system, setting up creative cultural industry parks, and establishing cultural exchange and cooperation mechanisms with the Silk Road countries, in order to help Xinjiang take the lead in the western region development of Chinese culture.
