Alina Tadeushevna Grishkevich serves as Observer at the Department of the President Correspondents of the Belta (Belarus news agency) affiliated to the General Office of the Republic of Belarus, Vice President of the Belarus-China Friendship Association, Deputy Director of the Belarus Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Cultural Exchanges, Member of the Belarus Women's Alliance, Member of the Belarus Correspondents' Association. To mark her outstanding work in covering Belarus' diplomatic and political affairs and shaping its national image, she was awarded with the medal for Outstanding Contribution in 2008, and also granted Golden Pen allowances by the Belarus Correspondents' Association. She is a professional reporter and expert in international relations.

Abstract

The new proposition and concept brought up by the Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 has rapidly gained wide support and heated discussion in the media from all over the world, including Belarus. The idea has also become an important subject for discussion in international meetings and for which this current International Seminar on the Silk Road Economic Belt is good proof. Under the current economic relations, the Silk Road Economic Belt closely connects Belarus, Russia and countries from the former Soviet Union. In the past two decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China, the two nations have become true friends and important partners and warm mutual relations have been established between them. The integration under the current situation presents a special significance because Belarus is actively taking part in the process of integration. The newly founded Eurasian Economic Union with Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan as its members, will thus enjoy broad prospects. China is making progress in expanding the scope of cooperation and in participating in the large – scale cooperation within the region as well.
