Laurent Wauquiez, France's minister for European affairs, stressed further development of balanced bilateral economic ties between China the European Union during his official visit to China from May 5 to 7. Wauquiez said that Airbus’s Sino-European joint venture in northeastern China is a model of win-win cooperation. "We would welcome the investment of Chinese companies in Europe, including new energy, environmental protection and food safety businesses," Laurent Wauquiez told China Business News. Sino-Europe trade relations should be based on mutual benefit, Wauquiez added. The EU hopes that European companies can be allowed to participate in public bidding in China. "I don’t believe that China engages in trade protectionism," Wauquiez said. But he hoped that China’s regulations will become more transparent, he added. He suggested that China and Europe further open up their market to each other. |
