In the first half of this year, China's total land supply reached 179,000 hectares, increasing 65.1 percent from last year, according to a report published by the Ministry of Land and Resources.

Among 36 major Chinese cities, Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hangzhou and Shenzhen are among 26 cities that saw its land increase. Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and seven other cities lost land.

The land supply for real estate grew 98.4 percent, accounting for 37.4 percent of the total supply. The residential land supply increased 112.5 percent, more than doubling the result from the same period last year.
