CIPG remains the main force of China's international publishing industry, publishing a full assortment of foreign-language books focusing on various hot topics in modern China, said Wu Shangzhi, deputy director of the State General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, during a visit to CIPG's booth at expo in New York City's Javits Center on May 27.

CIPG Vice President Fang Zhenghui presented Wu with a copy of the top-selling book "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China," which provides up-to-date insights into the Chinese president's vision for the governance of the country, the construction of the Communist Party of China and the enhancement of China's relations with its neighbors and international society through 80 speeches and interviews given by Xi.

Of the 865 titles CIPG is displaying at BEA, 817 are written in foreign languages including English, Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian and Korean. Oriented toward introducing China to the world, these books cover a wide range of topics relevant to modern China such as Chinese culture, Chinese literature, Chinese language learning, traditional Chinese medicine and stories for kids.

The BEA, one of the world's biggest book gatherings, runs from May 27 to 30 this year. Nearly 10,000 titles of Chinese books are on display at BEA as China is the guest of honor at the fair's Global Market Forum for the first time.
