Shenyang Customs Finds Illegal Ivory in Mail
Adjust font size:

Officers with Shenyang Customs sort and count the ivory goods mailed from Kenya.

Shenyang Customs has discovered 42 ivory goods mailed from the African country of Kenya while examining overseas mail deliveries in recent days.

A related department has identified all the goods to be made of real ivory, including 21 bracelets, 17 necklaces and two pairs of earrings, weighing 1,935 grams in total.

According to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, except if receiving approval from China's Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office, all ivory trade and imports within the Chinese border are illegal.
