HK Wetland Park Receives over 1 Mln Visitors
Adjust font size:

Hong Kong Wetland Park has received over 1 million visitors since its opening last May, more than double the original projection, said the authority Wednesday.

The park is warmly welcomed by the public and tourists since it offers a home for the local wildlife and plays a key role in promoting understanding on how to interact with wetlands and the importance of wetland conservation.

According to the statistics from the park, its average monthly visitor number exceeds 120,000, with about 2,000-3,000 a day on weekdays and 8,000-10,000 a day on weekends and public holidays.

Sarah Liao, Hong Kong's secretary for the environment, transport and works, said the park "provides an ideal platform for a wide range of communication, education and public awareness activities since its opening" and the authority will continue to develop it into an educational center for environment protection.
