FC Barcelona has suffered another injury setback with the confirmation that attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez has suffered a muscle injury that will keep him out of action for around two weeks and miss four important matches.
The 22-year-old, who has seven goals in all competitions, suffered the injury in Thursday's training session to prepare for Saturday's La Liga game at home to Alaves as Hansi Flick's side looks to bounce back from the 3-0 drubbing it received against Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
"First-team player Fermin Lopez has a small injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg, and his estimated recovery time is around two weeks," informs the Barcelona website.
If the estimation of the time Fermin is sidelined is correct, that means he will miss the game against Alaves along with next Tuesday's La Liga match at home to Atletico Madrid, a vital Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt and a difficult league visit to play Betis.
The good news for Barcelona is that Spain international Pedri was able to complete Thursday's session with his teammates as he has recovered from a hamstring problem.
