Ryan joins the newly promoted side after his previous deal with French outfit Lens expired over the summer. The move sees the 33-year-old return to the city of Valencia, where he spent two seasons with Valencia CF, making 23 appearances.
Ryan's varied career has included stints with San Sebastian-based Real Sociedad in La Liga, as well as Brighton, Club Brugge, Arsenal, Roma, Copenhagen and AZ Alkmaar.
Ryan is also captain of Australia's national team, and has 100 caps for the Socceroos.
"I'm very excited and happy to return to a top league and to enter in a project like Levante's. There is a lot to be excited about," Ryan was quoted as saying on Levante's website.
