Editor's Note: The China National Academy of Painting is displaying donated artworks and cultural artifacts between 2024 and 2025 at a special exhibition, now through Aug. 6.
The exhibition features recent donations from prominent artists, their families and cultural collectors. Works include ink paintings, sculptures, classical furniture and historical artifacts that celebrate artistic generosity while showcasing cultural heritage.
Since July 2024, the academy has received free donations ranging from historic masterpieces by 20th-century pioneers to representative works by contemporary artists. The collection also includes rare Ming- and Qing-era porcelain, traditional scholar's objects and classical furniture.
Each donated piece represents scholarly refinement, artistic excellence and cultural memory, connecting past masters' spiritual traditions with contemporary artists' creative aspirations. The exhibition demonstrates that timeless works form the foundation of China's artistic heritage.
