The 3rd council election and plenary meeting of the Cultural and Tourism Industry Committee (CTIC) under the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) was convened to review achievements and outline future initiatives.

Nie Wenhui, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), recognized the accomplishments of the CTIC and outlined expectations for its development during the event.

"The committee should leverage its unique advantages, mobilize multilateral resources and build platforms to advance its work," he said. "The body must serve as both a policy implementer and industry innovator while supporting enterprise growth, facilitating international cooperation and leading self-regulatory efforts within the sector."

Wang Bo, chairman of the CTIC of CCOIC and chairman of Poly Culture Group, reviewed the committee's achievements over the past three years and outlined industry trends for 2025. He pledged to rigorously execute the committee's duties, enhance policy implementation and market synergy, and generate fresh momentum for the industry.

"The committee will advance industry ecosystem development to strengthen integrated growth capabilities while boosting global communication efforts to expand its international influence," he said. "Moving forward, the committee will fully leverage CCOIC's domestic and international resources to make significant new contributions to the development of China's cultural and tourism sectors."

During the conference, Poly Culture Group was elected as the chair unit of the third CTIC, while several prominent enterprises were appointed vice-chair units, including China Arts and Entertainment Group, China International Television Corporation, Shun Tak Holdings, China Tourism Group, Beijing Performance & Arts Group, Beijing Shouwenke Cultural and Creative Real Estate Co. Ltd. and Beijing Honav Group. The member companies also elected standing committee units and reviewed the work report of the second CTIC.

Pansy Ho Chiu-king, group executive chairwoman and managing director of Shun Tak Holdings, emphasized that the culture and tourism industry, as a global sector, represents an opportunity for economic transformation, while enterprises possess inherent diplomatic value for public diplomacy.

"The industry plays a pivotal role in showcasing our nation's political ethos, economic strength, service excellence, trade vitality and cultural distinctiveness. Cultural tourism enterprises serve as ambassadors in communicating the Chinese Dream and fostering mutual learning among civilizations," she said.

Ho added: "Tourism is the vessel to carry culture, while culture is tourism's soul. Cultivating cultural integration represents a universal approach to civilizational progress, creating enduring value for businesses, society and regions alike."
