CATL subsidiary Ningde Contemporary Electric Technology Co (CETL) unveiled what it describes as its first electric fishing boat for the civilian leisure market at the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) this week.
The boat, called the E-space Compact Series, represents an advance in green marine technology, thanks to its efficient power and long endurance capabilities, according to CETL.
"We aim to promote the widespread use of electric boats in leisure, entertainment and short-distance transportation by integrating upstream and downstream supply chain resources, contributing to the global green transition in water transportation," CETL General Manager Lu Youwen said at the expo.
The vessel offers four hours of full-speed operation and reaches up to 28 knots (52 kph), powered by CETL's marine powertrain system. The company emphasized the boat's zero emissions and quiet operation as key selling points for recreational fishing.
The electric fishing boat is equipped with CETL's intelligent control system that automatically adjusts the engine speed based on different water conditions. The cabin features a live fish tank, foldable fishing platform, fish finder and navigation systems, all designed to meet the demands of both recreational and professional anglers.
