CICG unveils new English platform 'China & World'

China International Communications Group (CICG) held a promotional event on Friday in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, to present its new English-language multimedia platform, "China & World." This flagship project, which is set to be launched soon, represents a significant step toward enhancing China's international communication capacity and promoting mutual understanding with global audiences.

The platform was developed by China Internet Information Center (CIIC) under the guidance of CICG. Building on CICG's 70 years of expertise and strengths in international communication, "China & World" is positioned to become a go-to resource for global readers seeking to understand China, providing authoritative, timely and multi-dimensional content that showcases China's ideas, values and solutions in the new era.

"Human progress has always been accompanied by the exchange, interaction and integration of different civilizations," said Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG.

Du emphasized the importance of using dialogue and exchange to build consensus for human development, promoting mutual learning as a pathway to innovation, and embracing openness and inclusiveness as the foundation for shared progress.

He also expressed CICG's commitment to deepening cooperation and fostering broader consensus with institutions and partners at home and abroad, contributing ideas and efforts to help build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Gao Anming, editor-in-chief of CICG and director of CIIC, said that as China's global influence continues to rise, international interest in learning about the country is growing stronger. However, he pointed out that there is still a shortage of reliable platforms capable of offering a full, objective and in-depth picture of the country. 

"Against this backdrop, establishing an internationally-oriented platform that comprehensively introduces China is truly timely," Gao said. "We'll leverage our advantage in multi-language communication to present a real, multi-dimensional and comprehensive China to the world from all perspectives."

"We believe that this platform will be more than just a channel for sharing information; it will be a bridge connecting China and the world," he added.

The "China & World" platform features three main sections that highlight China's development path, national context and cultural heritage for global audiences.

The first section, Vision China, focuses on the theory and practice of Chinese modernization, offering insights into the core ideas of China's leadership. It uses a variety of formats, from infographics and animations to short videos, to help international audiences understand China's development path and governance philosophy. 

The second section, Culture China, presents a vibrant portrait of Chinese civilization, from history, festivals, martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine to modern design, music, film and literature. Through 16 cultural themes, it offers dynamic, creative expressions that link heritage with contemporary lifestyles and foster meaningful cultural exchange.

The third section, Info China, presents a comprehensive overview of China's geography, politics, economy and society. With bilingual resources, policy explainers and practical guides, it serves as a one-stop information hub for users seeking accurate and accessible content about China. Notably, it provides practical content for international visitors, such as guidance on working, studying and traveling in the country.

The first phase of the platform's construction has now been completed and is ready for official launch, featuring a fully developed PC interface, mobile adaptation and a presence across major global social media platforms, including Facebook, X, YouTube and TikTok. 

Looking ahead, Gao emphasized efforts to build a content-sharing ecosystem, expand international communication channels and apply AI-driven tools, steadily advancing toward the goal of becoming the primary platform for global audiences to understand China. 

Highlighting the vast potential of the platform in international communication, he extended an invitation to local governments and partners across the field: "Let's join hands to build and share together, pool quality content and innovate storytelling formats — and together shape a new chapter in China's international communication."
