On June 7, the U Library (Jewelry Library) opened in Luohu District, accompanied by the Jewelry Industry Development Forum on "Additive Manufacturing Applications and Trends." This specialized library marks a new milestone in Luohu's integration of public cultural services with local industries.
Located on the sixth floor of the National Jewelry Quality Supervision and Inspection Center Building, the U Library spans 1,584 square meters and houses a collection of 30,000 books, including Chinese-language works, children's picture books, and over 100 types of newspapers and magazines.
With a strong focus on the local jewelry sector, the library features a dedicated jewelry literature section offering professional books and journals on jewelry design, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and trade-available in both Chinese and English.
As a new addition to the Luohu District Library network, this initiative represents an innovative model of public-private collaboration and cross-sector cultural development. The U Library brand brings together reading, knowledge sharing, and cultural exchange. The Cuizhu location, themed around jewelry, is set to become a cultural landmark that supports both the surrounding community and the jewelry industry. It will also offer public education programs and promote reading and scientific literacy, especially in the field of jewelry culture.
Following the opening ceremony, a forum was held on additive manufacturing (3D printing) and its role in transforming the jewelry industry. Experts and innovators gathered to explore how cutting-edge technologies are reshaping jewelry design and production, opening up exciting new possibilities for the future of the industry.
