The 5th "Beijing - A Global City" Short Video Contest kicked off Monday at the Huairou Campus of Beijing Film Academy.
The contest, hosted by Beijing's foreign affairs authorities, is a flagship event designed to promote the city's international appeal.
The competition invites submissions of short videos under five minutes in length. Outstanding works will be awarded grants and promoted extensively across domestic and international media platforms, according to the organizers.
Participants are also encouraged to leverage technologies like AI-assisted editing and virtual scene building to produce works that combine cultural richness with a futuristic vision.
Meanwhile, the contest will organize activities such as AIGC workshops and intercultural storytelling exchanges, inviting international influencers and veteran media professionals to engage with university communities.
Since its inception in 2021, the contest has received nearly 1,000 works from more than 100 countries and regions, covering a wide range of topics that highlight Beijing's progress in the new era, including urban renewal, payment innovations, and the development of an international language environment.
