Holidays and Observances:

1: 88th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China;

1: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day;

1: International Architecture Day

11: World Population Day. World Population Day was first inaugurated by the United Nations in 1990 to mark the date of July 11, 1987 when the world's population hit 5 billion. Since 1996, every World Population Day has had a special theme defined by the UNFPA.

Langshan Festival, a 12-day-long celebration held in southern Gansu’s Tibetan community in the latter half of the sixth lunar month. Activities include horse racing, wrestling, music and dance, and making of religious offerings.

1. In the traditional calendar, the new moon indicates the first day of a lunar month; the full moon marks the 15th day.
2. Dates in red are official holidays. To give workers longer holidays during the year, the Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding or following the extended holiday are official workdays.
