The fourth round of the publicity campaign for the Beijing Olympic songs reached its deadline on Monday. But BOCOG officials said new songs for the Olympics are always welcome right up until the Games open.

The five-year project to solicit tunes from amateur and professional composers started in April 2003, and its fourth round kicked off in January last year. So far more than 50,000 songs have been gathered from China and abroad. The theme song will be selected from among those entries.
